Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park established 1960 with 137 square kilometers and found in Arusha Region, which is the fastest DEVELOPING town in the country. Arusha is the gateway to the most important concentration of attractions in Tanzania including the Serengeti, Manyara, Tanrangire, Arusha and Kilimanjaro National Parks as well as the Ngorongoro Crater. Arusha National Park contains all the wildlife you have come to expect, (except for rhino and lions). The beautiful black and white colobus monkey is the park's mascot and these graceful canopy dwellers swan-dive from branch to branch with their long tails billowing. The park also contains blue monkeys and lots of olive baboons. Other species in evidence are elephants, giraffe, hippos, leopard, hyena, zebra and a wide range antelopes. The park is famous for its 400 species of birds, both migrant and resident

 

 

 

 

 

Climate generally is tropical but temperate in highlands. June to September is the cool season. The long rains are from March to May and the short rains from October to December. Hottest months are between October and February. On the coast, it rains in November and December and from March to May coast areas are hot and humid although Sea Breezes cool the area pleasantly between June and September.
