Ngorongoro
Crater is the conservation area central to its 8,000square kilometers
is the Ngorongoro crater and 20 square kilometers wide depression teeming with
abundant and unique wildlife found in Arusha Region. Ngorongoro is the one of
few areas in Africa were the Big Five animals BUFFALOES, ELEPHANTS,
LEOPARDS, LION and RHINOCEROS can all seen together.
Also
there are a small number of black rhinos here too. The Ngorongoro Conservation
Area is a huge area containing active volcanoes, mountains, archeological sites,
rolling plains, forests, lakes, dunes and of course, Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai
Gorge.
Climate
generally is tropical but temperate in highlands. June to September is
the cool season. The long rains are from March to May and the short rains
from October to December. Hottest months are between October and February.
On the coast, it rains in November and December and from March to May
coast areas are hot and humid although Sea Breezes cool the area pleasantly
between June and September. |
