Kilimanjaro National Park
Kilimanjaro National Park found in Kilimanjaro Region, established in 1973 with 756 Square Kilometers. Also Mount Kilimanjaro is found with 5,895 in above the sea level. Kilimanjaro is the highest Mountain in Africa and highest single standing Mountain in the World; and the one largest volcano ever to burst through the earth crust. Three major volcanic centers are Shira in the West with 4,269m; Mawenzi in east 5,280; and Kibo in the middle 5,895m the youngest volcano. Any normally fit person can climb mountain with assistance of guide and porters. There are six routes through Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve, Marangu, Mwika, Umbwe Machame Shira, and Rongai. Different types of mammals are found include Elephants, Buffaloes, Duckers also Colorful birds and Insects available.
Climate
generally is tropical but temperate in highlands. June to September
is the cool season. The long rains are from March to May and the short
rains from October to December. Hottest months are between October and
February. On the coast, it rains in November and December and from March
to May coast areas are hot and humid although Sea Breezes cool the area
pleasantly between June and September. |
